Standing above the helpless victims; below the faceless spectators.
The Reboot is Limbo. "

A rock had landed by his right foot and before the boy had responded, harshly, he kicked the object far away from him as he could before looking up only to notice a friend who had an eager face — cigarette. Kangdae had taken the stick from his mouth using two fingers before throwing the white object on the side of the road, stepping on it so the flame wouldn’t have continued. “If you don’t need new shoes , then..” He pondered and trailed off with his sentence, “then do you want to help me find a new backpack? Sadly, my other one ripped at the bottom.”

“But before we look for anything, let me pay for a drink.” Walking, the taller boy had made his way over to an open cafe while whipping out his wallet from the back pocket of his pants. “Did you want anything? Bubble tea..coffee..ice..?”

His eyes trace the rock as it scatters across the pavement. This attention is then caught by the slowly fading scent of nicotine, a smile already gracing his lips before he turns around. If it was being diluted by the wind, then it meant one thing. The thin, blood darkening poison had been stumped — for that he was grateful. It really was ironic though. Yongguk would watch as a friend approached death, standing by to do nothing but hope as this death didn’t come too quickly.

“How do you even rip the bottom of a bag? Did you drag it a few kilometres?” Yongguk throws a small chuckle before trotting after the male. Drink? The only beverage suited for this moment was something bitter and almost fiery to the throat. Strangely, Yongguk’s brain drifted to a supposed relaxing agent — alcohol. Knowing the male by him, it was obvious that such a liquid was not an option. “Something cold? It’s your choice, really.”

The Spoken

Late.

He was late for the first session. Of all things he was capable of, time leaping or not, Yongguk’s special ability was to be behind the very aspect which he had mastered. Even if he were to be on time, something, such as his ability to forget, would hinder him. In this case, Yongguk had neglected the seemingly innocent documents perched upon the crumpled cotton of his blankets.

Taking in the combination of forgetfulness and bad timing, Yongguk runs towards the lecture hall, documents tucked tightly to his side. He knows he’s late and he knows that no matter how fast he runs, the result is that he is late. However, as a result of the philosophy that society had built in his mind, Yongguk forces himself to run his way to the campus, legs pushing themselves one after another.

It is a philosophy buried within the subconsciousness through countless stereotypes. Through all the times he had ventured, similar, if not identical, theories repeatedly wormed their way into his thoughts. By the time he untwisted the knots of his instant memories, he had arrived at the shut doors of the lecture hall. Silently pushing it open, he creeps in, only to be called over by the hosts of the seminar.

Of course he’d be caught.

Yongguk pulls on the quickest and most believable of smiles, hoping that he’d be able to weave his way out of missing the seminar. He hastily runs his thoughts over the documents and excuses before he walks away, a few breaths shorter, but nonetheless, an individual accepted for the very lecture. Fingers smooth their way through his bed hair, pushing his brain to memorize the many faces presented.

There were two groups, both discussing the same topics. Over and over again, the confusion of the world lines reached him and screamed at him. Over and over again, he was tempted to walk up to a face, hoping that whatever meagre memories had slipped through time.

Never was he lucky enough.

His brows furrowed at the word ‘reboot’ but the boy hummed and shook his head. “I’m nothing particularly interesting. I’m a blueblood - the name coming from a symptom of the infection that causes my condition.” He licked his lips out of habit as he crossed his arms. “It’s the cause of my eyes turning blue, of my fangs and the fact that I bleed blue. I’m also half demon though I’d really rather say that I have a demon over that I am one since we’re separate consciousnesses.”

“You’ve already contradicted yourself there. You’re plenty interesting, better said special, yourself. The separate consciousness is quite the particular detail. I understand that though. Travelling through all these world lines has certain perks. One of that being the ability to see all my other conscious states of mind." He pauses to toss the male’s words about, pushing aside the thought that he had taken too much of a scientific approach. “This infection though — is it harmful to your physical or mental being?”

Junhong’s expression showed mild surprise though the idea wasn’t incredulous to him. “Time leaper. It sounds like if you can use it right. But that’s it I guess you must have mastered it or something since you’re here.” He looked into the others eyes and smiled again. “One of my friends is reincarnated. He has a lot of scars it’s quite cool.”

“I pretty much forced it to work.” Yongguk’s smile falters; however, it is unwilling to throw any of his problems onto an existence that probably had enough to deal with. “As long as my memories remain intact and I’m not in the Reboot, it’s a successful time leap.” Almost instantly, his attention is caught. Reincarnation? It sounded quite interesting — but the boy by him. “How about you? I mean there’s me, a time leaper; your friend, the reincarnated. You don’t seem any less intriguing yourself.”

chjnhngxblueblood:

Junhong smiled back a bit brighter though he wasn’t sure what was funny. “Entered this existence? Are you reincarnated?” He looked the other over, walking around him. “Oh, you don’t look like a reincarnation.” He pursed his lips as he stood in front of the other, his bright blue eyes glowing with curiosity.

“Not reincarnated. I still am a Yongguk — just not from here. I’d probably confuse the whole idea if I tried to explain it. I guess time leaper or time traveller would be a better way to put it.”  It was interesting to see the latter’s curiosity. Never had he found someone who had pointed out another version of himself so quickly. Yongguk lets the male walk about him, shrugging slightly.

chjnhngxblueblood:

Junhong smiled at the other. “It’s nice to meet you too.” He kept smiling though the moment felt a little strange. He’d said hello first but he hadn’t thought of anything to say after that. “I have a hyung named Yongguk.” He felt like an idiot.

At the mention of another male with his name, Yongguk felt like laughing. Of course there’d be another. This was not a world he belonged in, let alone his world to begin with. “I’m not surprised, Junhong. It was given as soon as I entered this existence.” This time, his smile curls, almost appearing to hide the most precious of secrets.

His brows furrow a moment at the hesitation but he brushes it. His smile is nice. “I’m Junhong..”

He’s lost. Although this individual appeared to hold quite the jovial atmosphere about him, Yongguk couldn’t help but use a polite and awfully formal uptake. “Pleasure to meet you, Junhong. I— I’m Yongguk?”
