Once more Kahil found himself thrown into a grey area where nothing was really there to help him but nothing would ruin him either. Or, he liked to believe that nothing would destroy what he had built up until now. The idea behind friends leading to the ultimate demise of another was what made him stay quiet for a few moments. In a way, the other was right. He hadn’t kept them from going all those years back, and as a result, they never came back. He had to protect them as a friend of there and he had failed. He shakes off the feeling of guilt and sorrow, opting to reflect later and focus on his new friend now. He would be a better friend this time around, they wouldn’t disappear…

He smiles genuinely, elated with the fact of his new friend enjoying the water. He doubted it was as much as he did but the simple fact that they liked it was more than enough. “Yes, I like swimming. It is really fun and I think it is one of the best things anyone can do. Have you ever swam in a river? It is really cool and I think if you wanted to, you could float there too. I am not too sure if there are rivers you can swim in here though.” A slight frown plays on his lips, he hadn’t really had the time to explore the area but he doubted there was a free running river nearby. “Maybe swimming pools are the norm here?”

Yongguk’s smile widened at the sight of happiness filling the face of the male. Even with the confusion that had surrounded the previous question on colour, the topic of swimming, and probably water, had excited the latter. “I’ve capsized a canoe in a river. Is that close to swimming in a river?” Memories of laughter, perfervid splashing of river water and waving of oars ran about his thoughts. The faces that owned the voices may have started blurring, but the laughter rang as clear as it did that day. How he would do anything to fall back into a world where this fervent laughter would continuously sing along with his own. Shaking away such memories, Yongguk glanced at the male standing beside him, wracking his brain for the nearest swimming pool.

“Swimming pools are most definitely taken as the best place to swim. The water is claimed to be cleaner and more hygienic. To be honest with you, it feels better to swim in cold, fish urine rather than the snot and urine of little children, old ladies and lord knows who.” Yongguk shrugs, both arms raised to emphasise his point. “Of course, there are places where rivers are open to swimming.”  It had been quite the while since his body had been engulfed by the water of a river, ocean or pool. Sudden impetuosity almost drove him into asking Yixing for a day at a river, a pool or at the beach. Would the other accept? He seemed so over joyed with the upbringing of floating or moving about in water.

Kahil stays quiet as he hears the other speak, politeness had been emphasized as a must; something that humans responded well to and he was more than happy to follow that guideline. He doesn’t frown at what the other says, everyone had a different favorite color for a reason. Still, he does shuffle from foot to foot, not knowing exactly what it was should have been done next. There was no common ground and as far as he knew, that was the next step in making a friend.

“Crimson is a very nice color too. Do not worry about it, everything is fine. Friends are supposed to be different so they learn something from the other, right?” He waits for confirmation from the other. He was deviating from what he had seen on the program, but this wasn’t Darius, and maybe a deviation was what he needed. “Do you like swimming?”

Yongguk nods, glancing down at the slight shuffling that the latter was doing. “Friends are meant to be different, but it doesn’t mean that a difference allows them to learn anything. Many friends exist only to drag the other into trouble.” Images of tugging multiple friends into situations of mischief flooded his thoughts. Yongguk passes on a quick grin before realigning the conversation. “I take that you like the colour purple?”

Although the conversation had been taking rather stereotypical turns, Yongguk decided to go along with all the questions. He couldn’t be one to complain or even mumble about the awkward prods for a similarity. At times, he could barely hold a conversation without making a fool of himself. “Swimming? Although I do enjoy swimming, I’m probably the type that’d spend their time floating and sleeping on the water. You like it?”  He glances at the male, eyes filled with curiosity.

The smile that appears on his lips when the other agrees to be his friend is warm and to a point, relieved. He knows his trust in the woman was not to be mistaken. “Yongguk, I am glad to be friends. Do you like the color purple?”

Yongguk runs through his many conscious states of mind, all coming up negative for a familiar face that matched the one by him right now. It was strange, yet not uncommon. It may only been this line that meets this individual. “Purple? No — I find it to suffocating of a colour. It mixes the darkness of the sodden below and the depression of a sea soaked death. I much rather the colour crimson, though, I’m sorry if my distaste offends you.”

darthxing asked: Quadrants and millions of years in the past, meeting another would have been no problem. A stranger was a friend and a friend was family, introductions were done over time spent together playing a game or helping each other learn something new. Earth, however, had a different way of doing things. Humans required an introduction first and a reason, it seemed,or at least that's what the television had shown him. So he smiles as he nears the other. "Hello, I am Yixing. I would like to be friends."

Human are nothing but the thread from which the dream of life is woven. In each and every thread the repeat something. In each and every thread they differ. If you were destined to do something in one thread, you may never get close to finding this objective in another. Destiny is uncontrollable, so let it all flow as time has planned for it to flow. “I don’t see anything in the way of us being friends, Yixing. The name’s Yongguk.” His lips curl to mirror the smile.
