After a long walk through the streets of Seoul, Yongguk finally felt less restless. He honestly didn’t even know where he had ended up by now, it had been at least an hour since he last saw a familiar landmark. It was nice to be somewhere unknown, it gave him the feeling that he wasn’t being watched for once, that he could blend in because no one would care about some stranger in a hoodie.
His eyes drifted, from the pavement to the shops, to the faces he already forgot less than a second later, until he suddenly stopped, his muscles tensing as he felt an uneasy shiver crawling up his spine. He looked back, searching, until he found what he was looking for. To say he was surprised was an understatement. “Nam?” he said out loud, dumbfounded, even though they were on the other side of the street.
It wasn’t until the male’s lips moved to form words that he realized he had been spotted. If he could read lips, he would have walked off, pretending nothing had happened. However, the motion of the lips brought a new spark of curiosity from him. A single word, short from the looks of it, ended in what appeared to be an ‘n’ or an ‘m’. From the bewildered expression of the latter, Yongguk wouldn't be surprised if it were an exclamation or question.
He steps out from the thinning crowd, eyes glancing at both ends of the road before he crossed. If he were to appear in a world line that already had a version of him, he may as well go and explain what fuss he had caused this time. With his fingers still dug deep into his pockets, Yongguk ran the tip of a finger over what appeared to be a badge, smooth and slick on one side, delicately crafted on the other. At least he had something to keep him locked in reality.
