A low chuckle was released as the other yawned and at that moment, Kangdae had looked to his right, only to see the darkest sky with bright lights from below. “What to do, what to do.” He retorted when his dearest friend questioned their activity that night. “We could go outside…I’ll pay for food if you’re hungry.”
The two walked down the street together, merely, the eyes of women stared for longer than a second as they passed by. Where were they headed? No one knew; Kangdae simply enjoyed the other’s presence. “Yongguk, what do you want to do first?” He asked as he whipped out a cigarette from the small box that was kept in his back pocket, lighting the stick as the other looked around. “We could…look for some new shoes— not for me of course, for you.”
Before another yawn could wrack through him, Yongguk shook his head. “Either I forgot that we were planning to do whatever came along, or you have forgotten as well.” Having expected the classical roar of a hungry stomach, Yongguk glanced down at the ground. When it didn’t sound, he smiled inwardly and shrugged. “I'll pay this time; I’m not even that hungry to begin with.”
“I’d obviously say something stupid, so we might as well leave the decisions to you. Especially when the only thing I had in mind was to climb a clock tower.” At the mention of new shoes, an eyebrow crooked itself upwards, his head following by turning back to his friend. “I don’t need new shoes.” Wrestling the need to pull the cigarette away from his friend’s lips, Yongguk sighs inaudibly. This, almost, childish bickering was something he could get used to. These chiding, unplanned moments could be something he’d live for.
